DVD X Player, as the name so adequately points out, will play any DVDs in your collection. The nice thing about this application is that it will bypass region restrictions. Another nice thing is that DVD X Player can play locally stored videos and images – it can play images as a slideshow, with the soundtrack of your choosing playing in the background.

The system requirements for running DVD X Player are: Intel CPU with 350 MHz and MMX, or AMD CPU with 450 MHz and 3Dnow; DVD-ROM drive; Windows operating system.

Support for any edition from Windows 98 to Windows 8 is provided. This means that you can install DVD X Player on a PC powered by any of these Windows edition. To install the application you will have to go through a simple setup procedure. First up you’ll have to download an installer, then you’ll have to run it, and then you’ll have to click through a setup wizard’s instructions.

The application’s interface is made up of two elements: at the top there’s the window that plays the media you select; the playback controls and buttons for other functions are presented at the bottom. It is the sort of layout that is very common with media players; and because it is very common, you will immediately feel at home with DVD X Player’s interface.

As far as functionality is concerned, the properly good DVD X Player has lots of features to offer: support for multiple multimedia files, region free DVD playback, play images as a slideshow, play audio files, play video files, record DVDs as various popular movie files, built-in video converter, bookmarks, image capture, parental controls, and more.

DVD X Player is available as a Standard and as a Professional version. The Pro version is free to use for a trial period of 14 days.

The good looks, the ease of use, and the wonderful media player functionality make DVD X Player a must have in my book!

Pros

The system requirements for running DVD X Player aren’t very high; installing the media player will not take long. The application has a good looking and quite easy to use interface; said interface provides support for multiple languages. You can use DVD X Player to play DVDs, videos, audio files, and images. There are lots of useful features that you can easily access. DVD X Player is available as a Standard and as a Professional edition.

Cons

14-day trial; nag screen.
